Today's questions and answers

In English today, you are going to be working on character descriptions. Using nouns and expanded noun phrases you will be writing descriptions of the characters appearance. It is really important that you read through the E book below to refresh your memory before completing the tasks.

For today's French lesson you will be starting a new topic, Chez moi (My home). You will start by learning how to say whether you live in a house or an apartment and describe where it is. go to the Language Angels website. Click on home learning and use the following username and Password. USERNAME: Stjose1970 PASSWORD: lahome Click on the dashboard at the top and look at the middle column INTERMEDIATE LEVEL CHALLENGE . Click on Unit 5:Chez Moi and then on Lesson 1.

In today's English lesson you will be continuing to develop a character description, focusing on the personality of the character, how they behave and feel. You will be using nouns and pronouns. Today in RE, we will begin our new topic, 'Jesus, the Light of the World'. In today's lesson you will learn about the 'Presentation of Jesus' when Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the Temple as a baby. Click on the link below.

Today in PE, you are going to set up an activity called 'Avoid the Defenders'. Below is a link to an information card on how to set up the activity and a video link to a sports coach demonstrating the activity. Enjoy but don't forget to avoid the defenders!

In today's English lesson, you will explore writing a build- up in a story. Yo will write dialogue (speech) between the brothers. In the lesson you will recall the rules of direct speech, try to be mindful of the rules and include them in your work.

This week we are beginning a new and exciting geography topic. 'All around the world'. You are going to learn about the Northern and Southern Hemispheres and the Equator today. Mrs Cangiano has very kindly put together a wonderful, whole school art project based upon 'Art from everyday objects'. This week's lesson is inspired by the work of Stefan Kuhnigk, who one day spilt some coffee on his page and drew a monster character around it. I'm sure you are going to really enjoy this lesson, creating your own monsters!

Thank you again to Mrs Cangiano who has put together a super music lesson based upon the life and work of the famous composer, Vivaldi. Firstly, you will explore the life of Vivaldi and in the second link there are some activities for you to carry out. Finally in the last link you can take part in a Vivaldi quiz! In English today you will explore the dilemma and resolution part of a story. You will be using direct speech again and finding powerful verbs. Follow the lesson below.

For this term's science topic we will be learning about famous scientists and inventors and the incredible contribution they have made. In todays lesson you will be exploring the island of Madagascar, which you have probably heard of through the well known children's film. You will find out some really interesting facts about the island and how it's wildlife are at risk and how the incredible work of conservationist, Gerald Durrell has made a difference. You can access the lesson below. The deforestation experiment is optional and you may need to wait to do this as you will need to collect some plastic bottles.
