This Sunday's Gospel reading reminds us that Jesus came to establish a kingdom. With Jesus' blessing, his friends are sent on an urgent mission to all who will listen. The disciples were tasked with announcing the good news of God's kingdom - to make present God's blessing of peace and healing. The Church invites us all to enter into God's kingdom and to help it to grow here on earth. Everywhere we go, we can spread either gossip or peace, either hurt or God's healing - the healing which Jesus brought as he went round the countryside. We may not be able to heal physically, but we can spread the healing of peace in our communities.
Please be aware that staff and other visitors may be parking their vehicles on the staff car park up until around 8.45am when Mr Dixon will monitor access via the drive. Children must be supervised at all times and should be running around any parked vehicles. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
Head lice and nits are very common in young children and their families. They do not have anything to do with dirty hair and are picked up by head-to-head contact. There is nothing that you can do to prevent headlice. You can help stop them spreading by wet or dry combing regularly to catch them early. NHS advice on the treatment of head lice can be found at the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/head-lice-and-nits/
Treat head lice as soon as you spot them. You should check everyone in the house and start treating anyone who has head lice on the same day. There is no need to keep your child off school or wash laundry on a hot wash. Do not use medicated lotions and sprays to prevent head lice. They can irritate the scalp.
