The Divinity of Christ

In this Sunday's Gospel, the disciples received a glimpse of the awesome divinity of Jesus.  However, they would also endure difficult times and see Jesus crucified.  So beforehand, God tells them to listen to Jesus and allows the to see Jesus for who is really is. The extraordinary appearance of Moses and Elijah and hearing his Father's voice from heaven, would have encouraged Jesus to continue his mission - to spread the Good News. Following Jesus is not always easy, it never has been.  But it, like the disciples, we too listen to Jesus, we will experience the encouragment that God offers freely to each one of us - today.
