As we approach the beginning of the Lent, we are reminded that this is an opportunity for us all to receive God's grace afresh and to respond to it. The work of Lent can be summed up in three practices: prayer, fasting and almsgiving. We take guidance from St Ignatius of Loyola, who was a professional soldier who became a soldier for Christ. These are the weapons we take up in this battle. From him we shall seek to learn how to 'find God in all things', not least in the events of our daily lives. This is so important, because, as St Ignatius said, we human beings are created to praise, give reverence and love God, our Lord, and by doing so save our souls. When we learn to recognise and cherish the constant presence of God in our lives then we are moved to praise and thank Him. St Ignatius, pray for us.
Thank you to the six parents who attended the online safety presentation on Tuesday, led by the DGfL Senior Education Development Manager. Heather Jeavons. It was a very informative session which enabled parents to be more aware of the current apps children and young people are accessing as well as useful tips on how to ensure technology at home is secure to ensure that children are safe when using this technology. We have created a separate page on the school website 'Internet Safety' which has links to the resources distributed at the session and also those provided by West Midlands Police. Due to the low turnout we will not be holding another face-to-face event next year but will sign post parents to current advice and guidance through the school newsletter and website. Thank you.

This will include a table top sale of children's toys, games and books as well as a coffee morning. This is a great way to start the season of Lent!
Children and families are invited to the Arts Centre to find out about learning a musical instrument. We hope that you will encourage children who have expressed an interest to come along and try a range of instruments/meet teachers. This is an excellent opportunity for schools with whole class programmes to provide an opportunity for students to think about learning next year.
