Temporary School Closure

On behalf of all at St. Joseph's, I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused as a result of the temporary closure of the school.  I would like to reassure all parents that the school did follow all Government guidance as set out in the risk assessment. The regrettable decision to close the school was made based upon the advice both from the Department for Education and Public Health England. We appreciate and understand the difficulties the closure of the school has placed upon working families and look forward to continuing to work in partnership with the school, home and parish in the future.

Knowledge Speaks but Wisdom Listens

Wisdom is a gift from God which helps us to see things more clearly and make the right choices in life.  In this Sunday’s Gospel, five bridesmaids were sensible and wise. The other five were foolish – they were unprepared. The wise bridesmaids’ brightly lit lamps – filled with oil – can remind us of the light the bridesmaids brought into the world through their faith and good works. The bridegroom represents Jesus and the wedding feast represents the kingdom of heaven. Because of their wisdom, the five sensible bridesmaids prepared well for the wedding and experienced all the joys of the wedding feast, that is, the joys of the kingdom of heaven. Loving our neighbour as ourselves is a powerful way to show that we are growing in wisdom. Children at St. Joseph's are growing to be: Intentional in the way they live and use the resources of the earth, guided by conscience; and Prophetic in the example they set to others.
