A Change of Heart

Throughout the school years, the whole family will grow and change - learning more about life and about one another. Change can be an exciting part of family life. In this Sunday's Gospel, the father represents God and the sons represent ways that we can respond to God. Initially, one son refused his father's request, but then he had a change of heart for the better. This Gospel sets us a challenge. Sometimes we may not always respond to God in the best way. However, God our Father is always there to welcome a change of heart. No matter how many times we need to start again - God will be there for us. Covid 19 Weekly Update

In response to the new national measures which came into force on Tuesday, we ask that parents continue to follow the school's arrangements in terms of drop off and collection.  Only one adult should drop-off and collect on the school premises; that a 2m distance should be maintained at all times, especially when waiting at drop off and/or collection.  Face coverings can be worn by parents and children on the school site but must be removed from children before entering the school building. The children have certainly become accustomed to the revised routines in the morning and at the end of the school day, and have settled well into the new way of working in school.  We thank our parents for their continued patience and understanding, and thank all school staff for their continued support to ensure the children are safe, happy and able to learn.  Further details about any future Open Days and Parents' Evenings will be released shortly.  At present, parents are unable to come into school and any appointments must be arranged by telephone via the school office.

Fond Farewell to Mrs Brown

Mrs Brown, who has been the school cook at St. Joseph's for nearly 25 years, retired earlier this week. A caring, dedicated and hard working member of staff who will be missed by all children and staff. We wish Mrs Brown a very happy and well-deserved retirement. In the meantime, Mrs Cartwright and Miss Haley will work together as our school cooks with support from the other members of our catering team.
