Day for Life - A Day of Prayer

Day for Life is the day in the Church's year dedicated to raising awareness about the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition. The Church teaches that life is to be nurtured from conception to natural death. For further information on subjects which cover the journey of life please visit https://www.dayforlife.org/.    On Sunday, we also think about and give thanks to all fathers: for their guidance, care and nurture.  Father's Day is a time to enjoy and celebrate family life together during these difficult times.

National School Sport Week at Home

This coming Monday is the start of 'National School Sport Week at Home'.  Unfortunately, due to Covid 19 we are unable to hold our Annual School Games Day which would have taken place on Thursday 25th June.  However, there are ways in which children, whether at school or at home, can take part in activities during the course of the week.  This year, the Youth Sport Trust has teamed up with Sky Sports to run a national campaign which will aim to unite the country - families, schools, sport and businesses - in a celebration of the power of sport to bring people together, even during isolation. The UK-wide campaign will challenge people to take on their families, friends and neighbours in virtual sporting challenges - helping them to connect in an unprecedented period of school closures and social distancing. Parents are encouraged to register to take part in the campaign.  There will also be 'Daily Challenges' on the Active Black Country website.  Details for both the Youth Sport Trust and Active Black Country are as follows:https://www.activeblackcountry.co.uk/what-we-do/education/school-games/ https://www.youthsporttrust.org/news/children-wont-miss-out-school-sports-days-charity-announces-virtual-week-competition
